Danielle Harbord

Danielle began her yoga journey in 2001, replaying a set of old yoga VHS tapes until she felt comfortable stepping foot in a class. As an avid runner and former athlete, she was immediately drawn to the physical and mental challenge yoga presents. Through the connection of body, mind and spirit, she realized her practice would be a lifelong journey and an inspiration for living. Upon uprooting herself from ATL to NYC in 2011, she longed for a sense of grounding and community and discovered Yogamaya New York, which quickly became a second home. She completed her 200 hr YTT at Yogamaya in 2014 (later her 500+) and has been teaching, mentoring and leading teacher trainings ever since. Her classes are challenging, yet carefully and creatively sequenced and blended with her love of music. She aims to create a supportive and playful environment where students are encouraged to explore their practice and deepen their connection to themselves and all beings.

Outside of the studio, you can find her reading in the park, petting all the dogs and getting lost in the mountains (or in a jar of peanut butter).
