Ruah Bhay

Ruah Bhay is a yoga, meditation, and breathwork teacher and international retreat leader with over 20 years of experience teaching in NYC, leading international and local retreats, and offering private sessions to clients worldwide. Ruah’s teaching philosophy emphasizes resilience, self-discovery, and balance, rooted in yoga principles like Abhyasa (effort) and Vairagya (surrender). Known for her compassionate and transformative approach, Ruah blends dynamic movement, mindfulness, and yoga philosophy to guide students toward clarity, strength, and inner peace.

Ruah trained with great teachers of our time at Yogaworks, Swami Vivekananda University Yoga Therapy (in Bengaluru), Khalsa Way Prenatal, Dharma Mittra, and also practices mixed martial arts with gold & silver medals in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu competitions.

Ruah draws from her diverse training and decades of experience teaching and studying to inspire and empower students physically and mentally to navigate life’s challenges with resilience and grace, cultivating a sense of authenticity, balance, and connection. Whether in a packed studio class, an intimate retreat setting around the globe, or a one-on-one private session, her goal is the same: to empower students to navigate life’s ebbs and flows with grace and strength. She believes that yoga, meditation, pranayama, and martial arts don’t erase challenges—they equip us to meet them with clarity and courage.

When she’s not teaching at Prema Yoga or packed group classes as a senior teacher at Equinox, or private sessions around NYC, and leading retreats around the world, she loves spending time with her family, friends, and dog in Brooklyn.

Ruah’s journey was shaped growing up in Greenwich Village and cultivating a love of yoga and meditation passed down from her family and working in international development grew into a lifelong passion for helping others. She seeks to inspire her students to find balance, purpose, and fulfillment through practice and self-discovery. She is honored to be part of Prema Yoga Brooklyn and is excited to share her love of yoga, meditation, and mindfulness with the community. A mother of two, Ruah believes in the power of movement, mindfulness, and community to create meaningful change in ourselves and the world. You can follow her journey at www.ruahyoga.com.
